The ISEQ index of Irish shares climbed 17.50 points to 6392.50 in a slow but steady comeback this afternoon.

Banking stocks saw a mixed day in general without any major losses. Bank of Ireland proved the least impressive performer losing 4c off its shares to stand at €8.76 by close. AIB in the best performers category totted up 18c per share at €13.60.
