Banking stocks drag ISEQ down

The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the day in negative territory down 113.72 points to 6375 at market close.

The financial heavyweights all suffered significant losses with AIB leading the way, plummeting 52c to €13.42. Bank of Ireland fared just as badly dropping 40c off its share price to €8.80. Irish Life and Permanent fell 22c to €11.14 and Anglo Irish Bank followed the negative trend down 19c to €9.31.
