The ISEQ index of Irish shares rallied to a close this evening, up 136 points to 6474.62.
All the financial heavyweights flourished with Irish Life and Permanent leading the way gaining 55c to €10.83. AIB soared 45c to €14 and Bank of Ireland jumped 17c to €9.12. Anglo Irish Bank was up 12c to €9.12.
