The National Consumer Agency (NCA) today hosted a seminar to alert Irish toy operators of their obligation to ensure that only safe toys are placed on the Irish market.

Following a number of toy recalls last year, the European Commission carried out a major stock taking exercise on toy safety, with proposals to review the existing toy safety legislation to provide for stricter safety measures. The NCA’s seminar outlined the new EU proposals and the implications they will have for toy operators.
