Cowen set to face union fire over state of economy

Taoiseach-in-waiting Brian Cowen is expected to come under fire from union leaders today about the state of the Irish economy.

The Finance Minister is due to address a meeting of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions ahead of negotiations on a new national pay agreement, which begin tomorrow.
