Supermarket giant Tesco said today it has launched an inquiry into claims that some of its overseas workers are earning just 8p an hour.

Labour agents are reportedly charging migrants up to £1,500 (€1,900) to place them in Tesco jobs in Malaysia on the promise that they will earn them between £180 (€227) and £215 (€272) a month.
