Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII) warned today that the growing strength of the euro against sterling was placing food and drink exporters under serious competitive pressure, particularly in the UK market.

Paul Kelly, director of the IBEC group that represents the food and drink industry, said: “The food and drink industry is very concerned that sterling has weakened by 10% against the euro since September.
