ISEQ down in morning trading

The ISEQ index of Irish shares plummeted 225.22 points to 6535.49 this morning.

The financial heavyweights were among the main fallers, with AIB leading the way falling a dismal 75c to €15.22. Irish Life and Permanent shared the same fate, also down 75c to €10.20. Anglo Irish Bank didn't fare much better dropping 65c to €9.16 with Bank of Ireland slipping 43c to €9.71.
