BoI predicts 0.5% cut in interest rates this year

Bank of Ireland is predicting that the European Central Bank will cut interest rates by half of one percentage point before the end of this year.

The bank's chief economist says he expects two rate cuts in the second and third quarter of the year in light of the current economic turmoil in the US.
