Financial sector salaries up 10% last year

Financial sector employees enjoy some of the best salaries and packages on offer in the Irish market, according to a new survey out today.

The survey by Hays Ireland has found that newly qualified accountants can earn in the region of €50,000 to €60,000 per year.

This is 10% higher than the figure uncovered in a similar survey 12 months ago.

The rise is being attributed to a skills shortage in the financial services sector in Dublin.
