SIPTU seeks action to prevent large-scale unemployment

SIPTU is calling for urgent action to prevent large-scale unemployment as a result of the downturn in the construction sector.

The head of the Higher Education Authority is warning that tens of thousands of construction workers could end up on long-term unemployment as they tend to have poor educational achievements.
