The Central Bank has said that risks to financial stability in the Republic of Ireland have increased since the bank's last 'Financial Stability Report' in 2006.

The 2006 report identified three major domestic threats to financial stability: strong credit growth and rising indebtedness, the increase in house prices and the adverse impact of increasing mortgage burdens on the health of the household sector.
