ISEQ rallies to a close

The ISEQ-index of Irish shares experienced a surge this afternoon up 54.72 points at 8466.19.

The upward swing was fuelled mainly by the financial big guns with Bank of Ireland soaring 40c to €13.90. Anglo Irish Bank saw it's stock fall by 21c to €14.01 and Irish Life and Permanent rose by 11c to €18. AIB also reversed the positive trend down 9c to €18.16.
