ISEQ makes steady gains

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was making steady gains this morning, up 132.76 to 8755.84 points.

The financial sector led the positive trend with Anglo Irish Bank the best performer gaining 47c to €14.30. Bank of Ireland was not far behind with an equally impressive 34c gain to €14.50. Irish Life and Permanent saw a more modest gain of 9c to €18.49 and Allied Irish Bank was up a mere 5c to €19.70.
