The percentage of firms reporting vacancies in the private sector fell by 1% to 12% in June, according to a study released today by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

The percentage of firms reporting vacancies in the private sector fell by 1% to 12% in June, according to a study released today by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

The decrease was fuelled in large part by a fall-off in the retail and services sectors. Reported vacancies in the construction sector increased by 2 percentage points to 8%.
