On the back of strong first quarter overseas visitor performance, direct air access into the island of Ireland is at an all-time high this summer and bodes well for the season ahead, according to Tourism Ireland.

Overall, there are an additional 31,200 seats by air each week over summer 2006; this represents a 7% increase in total air capacity.
