American Airlines to end flights from Shannon Airport

American Airlines has announced plans to discontinue its flights from Shannon Airport.

The company confirmed today that it will stop flights from Shannon to Chicago from October 1.

It had already cancelled its service to Boston, claiming the route was not profitable.

The airline says it will now focus its Irish operations on Dublin Airport.
