Demise of rural pub to top agenda at vintners' conference

The demise of the rural pub is among the main issues up for discussion at the annual convention of the Vintners Federation of Ireland today.

The organisation has accused the political parties of failing to address the issue, which it says has been exacerbated by the introduction of mandatory breath-testing.
