New car registrations up 4.7%

There were 25,991 new cars licensed in March, 2007, compared with 24,830 in March, 2006, an increase of 4.7 %.

First licensing of second-hand private cars increased by 499 (10.7%) on the same month last year, according to figures from the Central Statistics Agency.

The number of new goods vehicles licensed was 6,363 in March 2007, compared with 5,022 in the corresponding month last year, an increase of 26.7%.
