Chip maker Intel have announced a first-quarter profits increase of 18.6% from a year earlier to $1.61bn (€1.18bn).

Chip maker Intel have announced a first-quarter profits increase of 18.6% from a year earlier to $1.61bn (€1.18bn).

The firm, who employ more than 5,000 people in the Republic of Ireland, said earnings excluding a once-off tax benefit amounted to 22 cents per share.
