Ryanair lauds construction of cheap terminals in Germany
Ryanair is flying a planeload of journalists to Germany today as part of its campaign against the way the second terminal for Dublin Airport is being built.
The airline wanted the second terminal to be built privately and in competition with the existing facility, claiming the move would reduce landing charges.
However, the Dublin Airport Authority was instead granted permission to construct the new terminal itself, something Ryanair says will cost more and promote inefficiency.
Ryanair claims Frankfurt-Hann Airport and Bremen Airport in Germany proves that a terminal can be built for less than one-tenth of the cost of the one planned by the DAA.
