NI employees to receive cut in income tax next year

Workers in the North can look forward to a cut in the standard rate of income tax next year under budget measures announced by British Chancellor Gordon Brown today.

From April 2008, the standard rate will be cut from 22% to 20%, the same level as the Republic.
