The Irish stock exchange saw its index fall 36.74 points to 9,324.51 coming up to 11am this morning.

The financials lead the downturn with all but AIB, unchanged at €22.40, recording falls. The Bank of Ireland had the steepest fall of 27c to €16.88 with Anglo Irish Bank not far behind on a 21c decrease to €15.96 and Irish Life and Permanent down 15c to €19.95.
