Aer Lingus reports drop in profits
Irish airline Aer Lingus has reported a drop in pre-tax profits in its first set of results since its move to the stock market last year.
Pre-tax profits for 2006 of €90.4m were revealed for the year, a drop of €1.2m from 2005’s €91.6m mark. Higher fuel costs and the impact of the terrorism alert in the UK last August have been pinpointed as the main factors behind this drop.
