The number of visitors to Ireland in the final quarter of last year was up significantly on the same period in 2005, according to new figures out today.

The number of visitors to Ireland in the final quarter of last year was up significantly on the same period in 2005, according to new figures out today.

The Central Statistics Office says there were 1.7 million overseas visits to the country in October, November and December, up 8% on the fourth quarter of 2005.
