Report warns of major skills shortage in coming years

A government report due to be published later today is expected to warn of a major skills shortage that could threaten Ireland's economic competitiveness.

The report by an expert group on the country's future skills needs is set to conclude that 500,000 workers will need to improve their educational qualifications if the economy is to remain competitive.
