Providence announces oil and gas discovery off Texas

Irish firm Providence Resources has announced a successful oil and gas discovery off the Texas coast in the Gulf of Mexico.

The company, which has a 5% stake in the project, says it plans to upgrade the drilling infrastructure so that production can begin later this year.
