Ryanair has announced that the proposed acquisition by Ryanair of Aer Lingus has been approved by shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting in Dublin today.

A further resolution - also passed - related to the proposed future sub-division of each Ryanair share of nominal value 1.27c into two new shares of nominal value 0.635c.
