Tesco hails increased sales

Supermarket giant Tesco reported solid sales growth today despite the impact of in-store inflationary pressures prompted by higher energy bills and produce prices.

The company said UK like-for-like sales including petrol grew 4.4% during the third quarter to November 25 and by 5.6% without fuel.
