It was a particularly bad day for the Dublin stock exchange, with the ISEQ closing down 126.37 points to 8746.33 by the end of days trading.

All the financial heavyweights lost ground today. AIB fell 50c to €21.15, Bank of Ireland lost 34c to €16.16, Anglo Irish Bank fell 12c to €14.48 and Irish Life and Permanent slipped 1c to €19.76.
