Irish people are feeling increasingly less confident about the economy and their personal finances, according to the ESRI and IIB Bank.

Publishing their latest consumer sentiment index today, the two organisations said consumers were more pessimistic in October due to higher interest rates and rising oil prices.

People were also worried about the possibility of job losses, despite ongoing high employment levels.
