ISEQ in negative territory

The ISEQ index of Irish shares failed to improve on gains made earlier in the week, dropping 46.32 points to 8381.43 by the end of day's trading.

All the financial heavyweights recorded losses today. Irish Life and Permanent fell 13c to €19.47, AIB fell 12c to €20.82, Anglo Irish Bank fell 8c to €13,52 and Bank of Ireland fell 4c to €15.42.
