Revenue Commissioners to set up new plan for non-PAYE workers
The Revenue Commissioners have created a new plan that will see taxpayers across the country face tougher legislation.
Up to 600,000 non-PAYE taxpayers have been targeted under the plan, which will see the implementation of a new ranking system to determine who is selected for a tax audit.
People who have previously failed to comply with tax laws, or were late in filing tax returns, or who work in a business sector that has a poor track record could come under the spotlight.
The new computerised system has been installed nationwide following its success as a pilot project.
