Building jobs up 2.7%

Employment in private firms in the construction industry increased by 2.7% in June 2006 by comparison with June 2005, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The monthly employment index increased from 108.1 in June 2005 to 111.0 in June 2006.

The annual increase in employment was 2.5% for May 2006.
