BT maintains growth rate
BT delivered its 10th quarter of revenues growth in a row today after benefiting from demand for broadband and other “new-wave” services.
Sales were up 3% to £4.86bn (€7.1bn) in the period between April and the end of June, with underlying profits ahead of market expectations at £639m (€932.7m), a gain of 24% on a year earlier.
Chief executive Ben Verwaayen said the company achieved a “strong all-round performance” at the start of its financial year, adding that its international business won more than 200 customer accounts in the period.
