Elan down, banks up as ISEQ finishes well
The ISEQ finished the day up 62.31 points at 7581.78.
Elan slipped 25c (1.9%) to €12.75, following the announcement of a development partnership with Abbott Pharmaceuticals and AstraZeneca.
Anglo Irish Bank was up 21c (1.8%) at €11.86. Allied Irish Bank gained 15c to €18.65.
Bank of Ireland was up 7c at €13.87, while Irish Life and Permanent gained 5c to €18.15.
Greencore gained 6c (1.5%) to €4.13. It emerged today that property developer Liam Carroll bought a 22% stake in the company yesterday.
C&C was up 5c at €6.99.
CRH was the day’s busiest share and closed up 29c (1.1%) at €29.64.
Icon fell 38c to €43.37.
