BP today said production levels dipped to around four million barrels of oil a day in recent months as the price of crude soared to almost 70 US dollars a barrel.

BP today said production levels dipped to around four million barrels of oil a day in recent months as the price of crude soared to almost 70 US dollars a barrel.

The London-based oil giant said output in the three months to June 30 was 4.01 million barrels of oil a day, slightly below production in the first quarter of the year and the same stage in 2005.
