New figures show that in 2004, service exports to the UK amounted to €10.7bn, or one quarter of total exports of €42.2bn.

Exports to the USA at €5bn accounted for a further 12% of this total. In contrast, on the imports side, service purchases from the USA were €15.2bn or 29% of total imports (€51.9bn) while the value of UK-sourced services at €7.8bn was almost 15% of the total.
