Economy needs workforce ‘returners’, says report
One of the world's leading training organisations has said encouraging mothers, carers and retired people back into the workforce is necessary to avoid a potential future skills shortage.
In a report published today, City and Guilds says employers should be encouraging such people back into the workforce to sustain current levels of prosperity.
The report says job growth in Ireland is due to outstrip the number of new workers by 2015 and turning to these so-called "returners" would help meet Ireland's skills needs.
