Immigrants boost GNP by up to 3.7% - report
Immigrants who arrived in Ireland between 1993 and 2003 increased GNP by between 3.5% and 3.7%, according to a new report from the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).
The increase is attributed in the report to a decrease in skilled wages of about 6% as a result of immigration and to an increase in Ireland’s competitiveness and applies where immigrants were employed at a level fitting their education.
