Small firms planning to create 50,000 jobs this year

Small businesses in Ireland are expecting to create 50,000 news jobs this year, according to the organisation representing the sector.

The Small Firms Association says its latest employment survey has found that 78% of companies are hoping to expand in 2006 and just 7% are planning redundancies during the year.
