Coughlan: 'Rules governing BSE to be relaxed'

Irish farmers will no longer have to destroy their whole cattle herd if one animal tests positive for BSE.

The Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan said this afternoon that she would be introducing new rules because of the continuing decline in the incidence of the disease in this country.
