The trade union representing workers in the retail sector has announced its intention to seek pay increases of at least €1-an-hour for its members.

Speaking at the union's biennial conference in Killarney today, Mandate general secretary John Douglas said it was unfair and unjust that workers were paid an average of just €9-an-hour in an industry that generates billions of euros in profits every year.
