SIPTU president Jack O’Connor has said his union isn't interested in concluding a new social partnership agreement unless guarantees on employment standards are forthcoming.

The issue has led to a deadlock in the current partnership negotiations, with the employers' body IBEC rejecting union calls for new legislation to prevent exploitation and so-called job displacement.
