The ISEQ index of Irish shares edged closer to the 7800 barrier this morning, rising 9.42 points to 7796.35 by 11am.
All the financial heavyweights enjoyed good fortunes. Both Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent gained 10c to €13.10 and €17.95 respectively. Bank of Ireland rose 8c to €14.96 and AIB rose 3c to €19.61.
