New car registrations up 11%

The number of new private cars licensed for the first time in 2005 was 166,270, an increase of 11.1% on the figure for 2004.

There were 38,207 second-hand private cars licensed in 2005, compared with 21,391 in 2004, an increase of 78.6%.
