India plans to build a second international airport in the western city of Mumbai, its financial capital, to handle at least 40 million passengers a year.

India is seeking to improve its airport infrastructure at an estimated cost of 400 billion rupees (€7.5bn) over the next five years to match the 25% annual growth in air travel.
