Farmers ‘must receive every cent of EU compensation’

The Irish Farmers Association (IFA) has demanded that sugar-beet growers receive every cent of the compensation due to Ireland over the EU's sugar reforms.

The Irish sugar industry is facing extinction as a result of the reforms, and the EU has agreed to compensate affected farmers to the tune of hundreds of millions of euro.
