Metro wins legal case against Independent News and Media
The publishers of a new Dublin newspaper have won a High Court bid to prevent Independent News and Media from using the word 'Metro' in the title of a freesheet it is planning to publish.
Metro International had argued that the use of the name in both papers could lead to confusion amongst readers.
The presiding judge agreed and today granted the company an injunction against INM, which owns the Irish Independent and a number of other publications.
Metro International already distributes a freesheet in 81 cities across the world.
