Tobacco giant to close Welsh factory
Imperial Tobacco is to close a factory in south Wales with the loss of 134 jobs, it announced today.
The plant in Treforest, which makes Rizla rolling papers, is expected to be closed within a year with production transferred to its larger plant in Belgium.
It is part of a restructuring of the group’s manufacturing operations that saw it announce the loss of around 200 jobs in Berlin last week.
